필자는 isapnptools 에 대해서나 David Howells 씨의 커넬 패치에 대해서도 자세하게 조사하지 못했다 (조사하려고 생각은 하고있다 ). BIOS는 PnP 를 어느 것처럼 초기화하는지(이것은 BIOS 에 의해 다릅니다)와, Windows9x 에 있는 ESCD 의 갱신 방법에 대해서도 완전하게는 이해하고 있지 못하다. 따라서, 이 HOWTO 는 미완성이고, 부정확할지도 모른다(실수가 있으면 알려 주세요. ) 이 HOWTO 에서는, 필자가 정확한 답을 모르는 것을 나타내는 기호로서 「??」를 몇개정도 사용 하고있다.

1.3 이 HOWTO 의 최신판에 대해서

Plug-and-Play-HOWTO 의 최신판은 대체로 매월나오고, LDP 와 그미 러사이트에서 열람또는 입수할 수 있다. 미러사이트의 일람은 linuxdoc.org/mirrors.html 에 있다. 이 문서는 다양한 포맷으로 존재한다. 최신판의 날짜를 확인하고 싶을 뿐이라면, linuxdoc.org/HOWTO/Plug-and-Play-HOWTO.html 을 보면 좋겠다. 당신이 읽고 있는 이 문서의 버젼은 v0.11(2000년 5월판)이다. 이번새롭게 추가된 항목은 scanport 유틸리티, 많은 오자 수 정, setpci 의 간단한 사용법이다.
